2 days to impact!

December 17, 2009

It has been a busy week so far, here are a few things that have been happening:

  • We have the pest exterminators in today and they are getting rid of some unpaying tenants that have been bothering us for a wee while now.
  • We are hosting the Christmas dinner which will involve a mountain of food, feeding 20 people and lots of folks round for Christmas dinner!
  • Agape moved to Cappella Coffee House, so a lot of preparation and some promotion also, many thanks to the folks at Cappella for their help!
  • Parents arriving on Saturday, all hands to the pump to facilitate their arrival
  • All hands to the pump to make our house look like a home again!
  • All the usual stuff that involve a family of three with two dogs!
  • Trying to fit in a traditional Christmas cookie day for the lassies
  • Trying to fit in a birthday dinner for Chelsea and I!
  • Teaching 2 lessons a week, one at Sunday School and 1 at Agape!
  • Preparing for the upcoming missions conference on Jan 4-7, 2010 at Murrieta
  • Finding time for wife and baby amongst all this chaos!

The 2 days to impact that I refer to is my parents are arriving on Saturday; it is not so much of an impact as a welcome time of family utopia. You see, the older I get, the more I get and understand my parents.

Personally, I can’t wait for the parents to arrive as Tabi has developed so much in the last six months, they are going to flip out when they see her and she is going to fall in love all over again with her Grandparents.

They also provide that “wee bit of Scotland” to the occasion as I do miss them a lot during the holiday season! Having them here, in some ways completes things! (Not that I do not love Chelsea’s side of the family, in my mind they are just as much family, but I have a lot more emotional and experience with them!) The only thing that would make me happier is if my Brother, Andrew and his family were also coming!

So all in all a busy time at Tigh Na Mac Gafraidh, there is still a lot of hard work to be done before the fun can begin, but it will be such fun when we can relax!

I plan to have a wonderful Christ focused Christmas, it will be so great to be surrounded by all the folks that mean the most to me!  Family times are the best!

Now in the midst of all of this chaos, I need to try to work out what I am wearing, will it be kilt or shirt and trousers, feel free to comment below!

God bless
